Crystal Structure and Hydrogen Bonding Patterns Of 3,5-Dihydroxy-2-Naphthoic AcidSERMACS (2006)
AbstractResearch on the hydrogen bonding patterns of 3,5-dihydroxy-2-naphthoic acid was conducted by several undergraduate students. The compound was first crystallized and then analyzed by x-ray diffraction. The structure of the compound was then determined using the program Crystal Structure. This substance crystallized in the monoclinic space group P21/c with unit cell edges 27.18(2), 4.010(1), and 7.049(2) Angstroms and a beta angle of 91.11(3) degrees. Complete structural results, as well as hydrogen bonding patterns will be discussed.
