Dr. Allen Lanham served as Dean of Library Services at Eastern Illinois University from August 12, 1991 until his recent retirement on June 30, 2017. Dr. Lanham led Booth Library through extensive building renovations from 1999 to 2002. He initiated an extensive program of annual exhibits, bringing the expertise of EIU faculty, touring exhibits, artists, musicians, and experts to campus to inform and entertain students and the community. Dr. Lanham served as the principal investigator for the Arts and Architecture in Illinois Libraries project in 2006, and was named Illinois Academic Librarian of the Year in 2008.
