Abstract
The course was codeveloped by  Allen Broughton, a mathematician, and Ed Doering, an electrical engineer. It stresses:
  • (discretized) image processing as linear algebra and matrix computation
  • image compression is the motivating theme
  • practical examples, demonstrations and implementations using Matlab
  • a team based project is completed by the students
The summer development was supported by a grant from the Foundation Coalition.
