About Alisa Bates

I am the Assistant Dean in the College of Education at Concordia University-Portland.  In addition to facilitating curricular and program innovations for the COE, I am an active research scholar in the area of university supervision, clinical practices in teacher education, and mentoring.  I am actively involved in research associated with 3 to Phd, a partnership of local agencies (including Concordia University and the COE) to support quality educational and wraparound services for children, families, and communities.  Our collaborative work between the COE and Faubion School (a PK-8 Portland Public School) is focused on effective clinical practices for teacher preparation in the undergraduate and MAT programs.
