Absorption Induced Confinement of Lasing Modes in Diffusive Random Medium

Abstract

We demonstrate numerically that reabsorption of emitted light in diffusive random media suppresses feedback from the unpumped part of sample. The lasing modes are dramatically different from quasimodes of the passive system.
