Abstract
The evolution of techno-scientific advances has originated new phenomena and exposed new methods of knowledge appropriation for new generations. Because of their development and analytical methods, different professions relativize issues linked to human life and social justice, in addition to issues that compromise a broad future – such as sustainability. These topics precisely require ethical judgement, and this relativization can lead to the misuse of science and techniques themselves. In the field of economics, there has been great progress in the knowledge of economic phenomena, organizational operation, and agent behavior. Economic science has been able to satisfactorily resolve many problems, but it does not offer a single answer, either infallible or safe, to human and social problems that it typically and unavoidably considers. This chapter intends to look at the debate regarding professional ethics from this perspective, in addition to its implication for the development of countries.

Developing countries need to design projects to increase the growth and wellness of its human population, which involves the inclusion of topics associated directly with the sustainable development of these countries and their particular social problems. This book examines the interrelations between development, growth, the environment and inequality, especially in developing countries and taking into account qualitative and quantitative approaches. Increasing welfare of the population is important to the increase of human development through the improvement of developmental and environmental conditions, generating sustainable development where it is key to seek changes in public policies, economic, technological and social factors. This book aims to analyze different contexts from micro to macro level relationships between development, growth, inequality, environment and human development, and evaluate what the actual conditions in emerging economies are and how developing new strategies could improve the well-being of developing countries.
