About Alex MacLeod

Dr. Alex Macleod teaches with the Department of English at the University of Dayton. After studying at the Universities of Dundee and Sussex, he attended the University of Arizona. He received his Ph.D. writing his dissertation on the mercantile heroics on display in Shakespeare’s plays and other Early Modern works. He taught at Wright State before joining the faculty at the University of Dayton in 2009. His classes encourage close reading skills as well as an examination of the ideologies that inform a given text. While Dr. Macleod continues to pursue his love of Shakespeare’s plays, lately his scholarly interests have centered around an ecocritical perspective upon a diverse range of subjects including war literature.
