I'm interested in the problem of intentionality. I want to understand how our cognitive and linguistic capacities fit within a naturalistic picture of ourselves and the world around us. Specifically, I am working on non-representationalist accounts of our moral and mathematical thought and talk---areas that have resisted a satisfactory treatment in naturalistic terms. I am also interested in the kind of norms that govern inquiry, particularly those norms governing mental states whose function is not to track features of our environment.
