Abstract

Begin the new year with a fresh look at graduate student success resources, best practices, tips and tools for graduate academic advisors, and an opportunity to strengthen collegial partnerships to increase graduate student persistence and success.

Biography

Alayne Thorpe, PhD, is the dean for the School of Distance Education & International Partnerships and the dean of the School of Graduate Studies. She has a long history in distance education, both as an administrator and a faculty member. Thorpe has served as a mentor teacher and course developer for both the University of Maryland and Washington Adventist University and as vice president and interim president of Griggs University.

Glynis Bradfield directs student services for non-traditional students studying online through Andrews University. This includes coordinating academic advising and marketing for all undergraduate distance degrees, credit for prior learning across all schools, and precollege services.
