The last three years have seen an upsurge in retirements among education executives—university presidents, provosts and deans, academy principals. The current environment has made the difficult job of leading an educational institution seem almost impossible. What lessons can leaders learn from the classroom? What characteristics make for a good institutional leader? What principles do good teaching and good leadership share?
