Abstract
Current industry trends in various fronts are giving shape to the way architectural projects are designed and built. As the practice is revolutionized by new findings, and user preferences become more demanding, there is a need for accountable design in response to the challenges presented by the environment and replacement of obsolete building methods and materials. This presentation focused on innovations in architecture, and discussed reasons why it is necessary to innovate in architecture. It also introduced new materials and design methods, innovations in building technologies, construction techniques, computational design and BIM, and the integration of research with design. The presentation was aimed to broaden knowledge of emerging professionals in architecture, and prepare them for leadership roles in architectural profession.
