Description

Description: With richly drawn characters and powerful performances, the highly touted, award-winning 2016 film, Moonlight, is a gripping and genuine coming-of-age tale that is set (and was filmed) in Miami. Chiron’s painful search for identity and human connection is complicated by an unstable drug-addled mother and rigid standards of masculinity for young men in the ‘hood’. According to David Sims of The Atlantic: “It’s a story about identity—an intelligent, challenging work that wants viewers to reflect on assumptions they might make about the characters.”

Facilitator: Dr. Kate Waites.
