About Ahmad R. Nusair, M.D.

Dr. Nusair, a native of Jordan, obtained his M.D degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 1997. He did his internship at Princess Basama Teaching Hospital in Jordan and served as a General Practitioner and Trauma House Officer in the Military Medical Services of United Arab Emirates between 2000 and 2002. In 2005, Dr. Nusair completed his training in Internal Medicine at Western Reserve Care System/Northeast Ohio School of Medicine. Upon completion of Fellowship in Infectious Diseases in the combined program at Creighton University and the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2007, Dr. Nusair joined the faculty at Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Dr. Nusair returned to Marshall University in 2011 after completing fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2011.
Dr. Nusair is the Medical Director for Infection Prevention and the Medical Director for the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Cabell-Huntington Hospital-Marshall University Medical Center. He is also the Medical Director of the Medical ICU.
Dr. Nusair received many awards for excellence in clinical precepting and practice. His special interests include device related infections and quality improvement and resource utilization in the critical care setting.
Dr. Nusair is recognized as a fellow of prestigious medical societies; American College of Physicians, Infectious Diseases Society of America, and Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America.
Dr. Nusair has authored and coauthored book chapters, peer reviewed articles and numerous abstracts and poster presentations at regional, national and international societal meetings.”
