About Aditya Ramamoorthy

Aditya Ramamoorthy is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University. He received his B.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 1999 and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He was a systems engineer at Biomorphic VLSI Inc. until 2001. From 2005 to 2006 he was with the data storage signal processing group at Marvell Semiconductor Inc.

Dr. Ramamoorthy's research interests are in the areas of network information theory, channel coding, and signal processing for bioinformatics and nanotechnology. He served as an editor for IEEE Transactions on Communications from 2011 to 2015. He is currently serving as an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Information Theory. He is the recipient of the Iowa State University Early Career Engineering Faculty Research Award (2012); National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award (2012); and the Harpole-Pentair Developing Faculty Award (2009-2011).
