About Adel El-Shahat

Adel El Shahat is currently an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Georgia Southern University (GSU), USA. He is the Founder and Director of the innovative Power Electronics and Nano-Grids Research Lab (iPenG) at GSU. He received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Zagazig University, Zagazig, Egypt, in 1999. He received his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Power & Machines) from Zagazig University, Zagazig, Egypt. in 2004. He received his Ph.D. degree (Joint Supervision) from Zagazig University, Zagazig, Egypt, and The Ohio State University (OSU), Columbus, OH, USA, in 2011. His research focuses on various aspects of Smart Grid Systems; Nano & Micro- Grids; Power Electronics; Electric Machines; Drive Systems; Smart Homes, Distributed Generation; Renewable Energy Systems (Photovoltaic, Wind, …etc); Power Systems; Energy Storage & Conservation; Optimization; Neural Networks, Genetic; Power System Stability; Control Systems; Micro-generators Design; Micro-turbine operation; FACTS; Capacitive Deionization; Modeling and Simulation techniques.
