About Adam M. Franks, MD

Adam M. Franks, M.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Family and Community Health at the Marshall Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. After earning his medical degree from Marshall University in 1999, Franks completed his residency at Marshall and a fellowship in surgical obstetrics at Advanced Maternal Care in Memphis, Tennesee. He practices family medicine at Marshall University Medical Center and at Marshall Family Medicine in Lavalette, West Virginia.

His unique training allows him to see a diverse outpatient population with specific emphasis on obstetrics, pediatrics and procedures. The hospital also finds prominence in Dr. Franks’ schedule, both on the Family Medicine service and Labor and Delivery. He has been the Family Medicine section chief at Cabell Huntington Hospital since 2011. Enjoying teaching, he is a graduate of the Academy of Medical Educators. He has been involved in mentoring both students and residents, leading to teaching awards both at Tennessee and Marshall Universities, including the 2012 Rural Preceptor of the Year.
