About Adam Barger

As Executive Director at William & Mary's Studio for Teaching & Learning Innovation, my primary focus is leading initiatives exploring and operationalizing excellent teaching and learning across the university. I work to equip faculty and campus partners with appropriate pedagogical and technological resources for their teaching and research goals. I'm delighted to work with the STLI team to foster rich teaching and learning experiences across face-to-face, hybrid and online course modalities.

My philosophy and approach to teaching and learning is strongly influenced by my background as an educator and researcher in K-12, higher education, and adult learning contexts. I believe innovative teaching must begin with sound pedagogical practices that promote community, consistency, and commitment in learning. It is my desire to work with William & Mary colleagues to continue the tradition of valuable teaching and learning experiences for all students while reaching for innovative and relevant pedagogy.

My current research interests include digital fluency, multimodal assessments, and community in learning. When I am not engaged in these areas of interest, you can find me on the ice as the Head Coach of W&M Club Ice Hockey. Go Tribe!
