About Abigail Hielscher

Dr. Abby Hielscher is an Assistant Professor of Anatomy at the Georgia campus of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Her research interests are currently centered on the role of the microenvironment in breast cancer initiation, growth and metastasis, with a focus on the key roles of the extracellular matrix (ECM) in supporting aberrant cell behaviors, angiogenesis and breast tumor progression.
Dr. Hielscher is also active in promoting STEM education for girls and young women in Gwinnet County.
