About Aaron Franzel

Dr. Franzel is involved in the Pupil Project, a collaborative project between the College of Optometry and the College of Education. The Pupil Project provides optometric, psychological and educational clinical evaluation, diagnosis and remediation for children with learning related vision problems. Dr. Franzel's clinical research interests involve the study of sensory and motor aspects of strabismus. In particular, he is interested in the development and progression of esotropia. Currently, he is studying familial esotropia, determining characteristics shared by these families and suggesting potential risk factors for the incidence of binocular dysfunctions in non-strabismic family members. He is also interested in developing more successful therapy regimens for adults with strabismus.
