Yael Dvir, M.D. is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Community Healthlink. In
addition to being the Co-Director for the Medical Student Clerkship in Psychiatry and
faculty advisor for the medical student Psychiatry Interest Group at the University of
Massachusetts Medical School, she conducts research through the UMMS Child and Adolescent
NeuroDevelopment Initiative (CANDI). Her research and clinical interests include the
association between childhood trauma and mood disorders, childhood psychosis, the
associations between childhood psychosis and Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and medical
education. She is currently pursuing a pilot fMRI study which examines Amygdala Response
to Threat Related Facial Expression in Youth with Trauma, Bipolar Disorder and Affective
Dysregulation. The project received funding through a UMMS Faculty Scholar Award.
