After obtaining his PhD from Australian National University, Xiaowen worked and taught at National University of Singapore, Leeds University Business School (UK), and Nottingham University Business School (UK). Xiaowen is the author of four books including Managing International Business in China (Cambridge University Press, 2007), and has published articles in such journals as Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, Public Management Review and Journal of Asian Business Studies.
