Xavier Martinez-Giralt is Professor of Economics at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, and director of the Center for the study of the Organizations and Decisions in Economics (CODE), a research center at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, created in 1995 to promote excellence in research in the theory of economic decisions and organizations as measured by the international standards of scientific quality. He is also affiliated professor of the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics (BGSE). His research interests combine industrial organization and health economics with particular attention to the interplay among third-party payers, providers, patients and the pharmaceutical industry.
