William Welburn, is the Associate Provost for Diversity and Inclusion and is responsible for developing and implementing campus-level strategies on diversity and inclusion as related to the academic mission of Marquette University. He assists the Provost in creating strategic initiatives for diversifying faculty and academic administrative positions at the university by: -- Increasing representation of faculty and students from diverse backgrounds; -- Strengthening the academic environment, and creating opportunities to bridge academic and student affairs on issues of diversity, inclusion, and multicultural/intercultural engagement with the Marquette University student community; -- Working collaboratively with academic and administrative units, representing the Provost on diversity issues; -- Promoting opportunities to advance faculty scholarship, research and teaching in diversity; -- Pursuing opportunities to increase resource support for diversity initiatives; -- Providing oversight on the development and administration of the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center; -- Serving as a part of the Provost's administrative team
