Value of Children in Compensation for Wrongful Death
International Review of Law and Economics (1989)
  • William Rieber, Butler University
  • Euston Quah
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is primarily to offer an economic perception of the loss involving the wrongful death of children. Unfortunately, little or no attention thus far has been directed to the question of what ought to be the basis of compensation, and many of the sums awarded by courts do not bear any relation to the value of the child that is lost.
