Warwick Carter is a general practitioner, writer, medical editor and medico-legal
advisor. He worked as a GP in the SW suburbs of Brisbane for 28 years before selling the
practice in 2005. He continues to work part-time in his old practice. 

He is the author of 24 books on medical topics ranging from pathology textbooks to
question and answer books for the public. These have been published in 80+ countries and
11 languages. Dr Carter has been the editor and honorary editor of numerous medical
publications (eg. MIMS). 

He has held many positions in medical organisations including:- 

- Chairman of the Australian Medical Association, Queensland Branch 1988-92 

- Queensland Regional Representative on the AMA Federal Council 1988-92 

- Member, Queensland Council AMA 1982-92 

- Examiner, RACGP Fellowship examination 1999 - 2004 

Dr Carter joined Bond University in 2007.
