Fraser, Victoria MD is Professor of Medicine; Interim Chairman, Department of
Medicine; Co-director of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Washington University
School of Medicine; and the Medical Director of Patient Safety for Barnes Jewish
Hospital. She is actively involved in healthcare epidemiology research and infection
control administration. Her research interests include prevention and control of
nosocomial infections and patient safety. She has received grants from CDC, AHRQ, HRSA,
NIOSH and the NIH. She is the Director of the Clinical Research Training Center under the
Washington University Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences. Under her
guidance, Washington University and BJC HealthCare have been designated as a Center of
Excellence of in Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology. She is an active member of
the Society of HealthCare Epidemiology of America, Infectious Disease Society of America,
American Society for Microbiology, and the Association for Professionals in Infection
Control and Epidemiology. She is a Past President of SHEA.
