An academic with a truly international background, Professor Spedding joined UOW in 2005 from the University of Greenwich in Kent, England, having spent most of the 1990s at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. A management specialist, particularly in the engineering and manufacturing sectors, Professor Spedding has also worked as a consultant and conducted short courses for leading companies in Britain, Europe, the United States and Singapore. He was head of the School of Management and Marketing in the Commerce Faculty before assuming the role of dean at the end of 2009.
