Dr. Tony Roark received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho in 1992 and went on to earn a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Washington in 1999. He joined the faculty of the Department of Philosophy at Boise State University in 2000, and is now Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Roark's work has appeared in journals such as Mind, Ancient Philosophy, Apeiron, and History and Philosophy of Logic, and he recently authored a book on Aristotle which presents a comprehensive interpretation of the ancient philosopher’s views concerning the nature of time, draws on his views concerning perception and cognition, and relates his temporal theory to 20th century work in the philosophy of time. In addition to teaching and writing, he is involved in many organizations and activities, both on-campus and off, including an eight-year appointment to the Boise City Ethics Commission.
