Tony secured his PhD in Quality Management in Healthcare and is currently enrolled in a
PhD in Pure Maths at UQ. He is Associate Professor, Faculty of Health Science and
Medicine at Bond University. In the twenty one years from 1990, he was Laboratories
Manager, Executive Manager at Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology. Between 1973 and 1990, he
worked at the Biochemistry Department of the Princess Alexandra Hospital. 

As evidence of his international reputation in biochemistry, Tony has travelled
frequently and widely to be the visiting guest lecturer and invited speaker in countries
such as India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, the Philippines and Malaysia as well as to
the New Zealand and Britain. In fact, he has presented 130 papers at Conferences and
Regional Meetings. He was President of the Australasian Association of Clinical
Biochemists (2003-2007), and has been a visiting guest lecturer under the auspices of the
International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and the Asian Pacific Federation of
Clinical Biochemistry. 

Tony has also had published 85 Papers/ Abstracts and one book chapter (2 editions) in
Health care management and has reviewed a number of esteemed scientific journals. He was
consultant and adviser to WHO in 2007; adviser to the Department of Health and Ageing on
the Scientific Workforce in Pathology and is a Ministerial appointee to the National
Pathology Accreditation Advisory Committee.
