About Tom Kenny

Dr. Tom Kenny is an Assistant Professor for the Department of Communications, New Media, and Art at Molloy University, as well as Chairperson. Tom is also the Program Director for TV and Media Production. He teaches courses such as TV Studio Production, Video Editing, Media Literacy, Social Media, Online Journalism, Podcasting, and Screenwriting. Tom has published textbooks such as Social Media and Genre Studies: An investigation of Facebook and Twitter Higher Education Web Pages and Producing New and Digital Media: Your Guide to Savvy Use of the Web. He also co-founded the New Media major and minor at Molloy University. Since 2008, Tom has held the position of Director of Media Facilities and is involved in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the campus television studio and media lab. He earned his Ph.D. from Long Island University in Information studies.
