Successful senior secondary teaching
Abstract
This paper reports on an interview and observation study of teachers identified from confidential New South Wales Higher School Certificate results as being highly successful. Findings from the study suggest seven key factors in facilitating senior student success: school background; the faculty or department; resources and planning; professional development; personal qualities; relations with students; and teaching strategies. the influence of each on quality of teaching is explored.
