On Measuring Group Differential: Some Further Results

Abstract

This paper proposes a measure to explain group-differential for failure indicators. The measure satisfies the two level sensitivity axioms of Mishra and Subramanian (2006), which indicate that a given hiatus at lower levels of failure (or higher levels of attainment) is considered worse off, normalization axiom of Mishra (2007), and (strong) monotonicity axiom. Empirical illustration with infant mortality rate data for selected Indian states has also been given.
