About Sridhar Gutam

After earning a PhD in Plant Physiology from the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, I joined the Agricultural Research Service of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in January 2004. Currently, I am working as a Senior Scientist (Plant Physiology) at ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru. Apart from my studies related to plant physiology of horticultural crops, I am passionate for Open Access, Open Data and Open Education. I along with my friends, I had co-founded a community of practice, ‘Open Access India’ and advocating the opening-up of agricultural research information and data. I am one of three DOAJ ambassadors in India and Plantae Fellow. I was part of the first Open Access journal in the ICAR, the Open Access Journal of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants. I had actively participated in the Open Access policy adoption by the ICAR. Apart from the being a proud member of the FORCE11, He is a proud alumni of OpenCon, member of the OKFN Open Science Working Group and AgriXiv, a preprint repository for Agriculture etc. Being an Open Access evangelist, I am also volunteering as Convenor for the Open Access India community of practice. All my works are licensed under CC-BY.
