About Spencer H. Wood

Since 1977 Dr. Spencer Wood has worked to engage students in research projects and fieldwork. These unique opportunities have included projects such as investigations of the Borah Peak earthquake and explorations of the groundwater geology of the Boise area. He also has involved students in geologic mapping of the western Snake River Plain, Cuddy Mountain and Weiser areas, as well as archaeology and watersheds projects in northern Thailand. Dr. Wood served on the Coeur d’Alene Basin Superfund Site Assessment and Remediation Committee for the National Academy of Science. In the Fall of 2008, Dr. Wood was part of a team of Boise State scientists and students who, along with their collaborators at Chiang Mai University in Thailand, was selected to participate in the first round of the Geoscientists Without Borders program. This program uses geophysical technology to address the needs of communities around the world.
