Sona K. Andrews assumed the position as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Boise State University in August 2004. In her role, she serves as the chief academic officer and as such, is responsible for advancing the academic and scholarly life of the campus. Working in close collaboration with deans, faculty and staff, the Provost develops and implements academic policy, fosters new academic programs, monitors programmatic effectiveness, identifies and establishes academic priorities, and collaborates with university leadership and the State Board of Education to advance campus initiatives that lead to student success and to faculty and staff excellence. Dr. Andrews also holds an appointment as a professor in the Department of Geosciences. Dr. Andrews has served a journal editor and as a member on numerous professional national committees and boards. In 2000-01 she was an American Council on Education Fellow and currently serves on the ACE Fellows Program Executive Committee.
