Before joining the University of Wollongong, Silvia did her doctoral study at
University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Economics with her thesis title of "An
Economic Analysis of the Impact of the Labour Market on Family Well-Being". 

Silvia's research interests are Labour Economics, Health Economics, Applied
Microeconometrics and she has experience in Applied Microeconometric Research and in
statistical analysis of large data sets (BHPS and HILDA) as well as extensive knowledge
of Policy Evaluation techniques and relevant software. 

Silvia also completed her Master of Science (Msc.) in Economics at the University College
of London (UCL), her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Economics at University of Turin and was
a visiting academic at the University of Warwick (Department of Economics). 

She has also received four scholarships, two fellowships and has presented at many
conferences.
