Simon Wilde BBus(Hons)(SCU) Following a career in marketing and events management, Simon joined the School of Tourism and Hospitality in 2004 to provide assistance and advice to first, second and third year students regarding Internship/Workplace placements. Since that time, he has pursued his academic interests in marketing and tourism, by undertaking a full-time PhD, which seeks to examine tourism destination competitiveness in a regional Australian context. This research is being made possible through funding from the Sustainable Tourism Cooperative Research Centre (www.crctourism.com.au), and Southern Cross University. Simon is also involved in research through the Centre for Enterprise Development and Research (CEDAR - www.cedar.net.au), at Southern Cross University.
