An Assessment of Macroeconomic Implications of HIV/AIDS on Domestic Absorption in Nigeria

Abstract

This study assessed of the impact of HIV on domestic absorption in the Nigeria economy. Using a simple macroeconomics model of domestic absorption and predictive averages, the result reveals that HIV/AIDS has a general negative impact on domestic absorption and growth. The result also shows that in the HIV/AIDs scenarios, a general negative (decrease) in domestic absorption was observed.
