Her research focus is on urban conservation, heritage conservation, adaptive reuse, urban planning, sustainable development and architecture related topics. She has been a licensed and practicing Architect and Urban Planner in the Philippines since 1993. She managed to be active in both industry and academic fields; she has worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines- School of Urban and Regional Planning (1999) and also worked as a planning consultant in Cebu City, Philippines. She has worked as a Research Fellow under the Japan Government REDP-B grant in 1998 and as the United Nations Centre for Human Settlements - National Consultant to Cebu City for the Agenda 21+5 in 2000.
