Childhood

Robert K. Thomas

Abstract

The author gave an account of his life as a youngster in a Cherokee community in the hills of eastern Oklahoma and the changes he had experienced in the community, in order to give the reader a "feel" for the kind of life an Indian youngster leads. In a broad sense, the quality of life of Indian youngsters today in rural Indian communities is very much like the author's experience as a youngster.
