Dr. Ricardo Videla was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has always been very passionate about animals. In 2003 he obtained his veterinary degree from the Universidad del Salvador, in Argentina. After working as a large animal private practitioner for two years he decided to strengthen his professional experience and completed an internship at Chino Valley Equine Hospital, in CA. He developed a deep interest for the medical care of the critical patient and decided to pursue further training. In 2010 he completed a Large Animal Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Tennessee and in 2011 he became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. In 2012 he completed the ECFVG program and also obtained a master's degree in the Comparative and Experimental Medicine program for his work in antimicrobial resistance and genetic characterization of Staphylococcus pseudintermedius. Dr. Videla is a Clinical Assitant Professor in the Large Animal Clinical Sciences department. He works in the Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery service and enjoys being able to work with different farm animal species and playing an active roll in the trainning of future veterinarians. Some of his professional interests include camleid and small ruminant medicine, bovine infectious diseases, and intensive care of the critical patient.
