About Irene (Rena) M. Sanderson

Dr. Rena Sanderson has taught American literature in the Department of English at Boise State University since 1984. She has a B.A. in German from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and then went on to earn an M.A. in English, also from UNLV, and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Colorado in Boulder. The work of Ernest Hemingway has been one of Dr. Sanderson's major research interests. She directed the "Hemingway in Idaho" conference in 1989 and the Tenth International Hemingway Conference in Stresa, Italy, in 2002. She served for two terms as trustee of the Ernest Hemingway Foundation and Society, and recently has been part of an international team of scholars that is preparing a twelve-volume Cambridge edition of the letters of Ernest Hemingway for publication.
