Rebecca Hovey is currently developing World Learning Global Dialogues, a new
initiative to explore critical global issues through educational travel. She previously
served as Dean of SIT Study Abroad from 2001 - 2008, overseeing international education
programming for over 2,000 students per year in over 45 countries. She recently completed
a one year position as the World Learning Engaged Global Scholar, working to document and
extend World Learning's experiential, community-based pedagogy. She received her
Ph.D. from Cornell University in the field of City and Regional Planning with an emphasis
on International Development Studies in Planning. Her academic work focuses on
internationalization of higher education, global citizenship and critical pedagogy.
