Ralph G. Fischer is an associate practicing with the Intellectual Property Section of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney P.C. Ralph's practice includes a broad range of patent, licensing, copyright, trademark, trade secret and unfair competition law. His focus is on the preparation, prosecution and litigation of patents in mechanical, chemical, electrical and computer related fields. Ralph received his J.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2005. While in law school, he was awarded the Dean's Scholarship, the Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association Student Leadership Award, the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Intellectual Property and Patent Law Practice classes and was named the ABA/BNA Intellectual Property Law Student of the Year. Additionally, he was awarded a Samuelson/Glushko Fellowship. As a Samuelson/Glushko Fellow, Ralph wrote "The Expansion of Intellectual Property Rights by International Agreement: A Case Study Comparing Chile and Australia's Bilateral FTA Negotiations With the U.S." A version of this article was published in Volume 28.1 of the Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review. Prior to attending law school, Ralph earned a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
