My research program focuses on both basic and applied research in weed biology and sustainable weed management in field crops and cool-season turfgrasses. My research has been published in over 135 refereed journal articles or book chapters, 450 abstracts and reports, and 80 extension and popular articles. Also, my research collaborators and/or I presented over 275 research papers at regional, national and international scientific meetings. I have been instrumental in developing our weed science curriculum at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Currently, I teach two weed science courses (PLNTSOIL 310 and PLNTSOIL 560), and co-teach PLSOILIN 397D. Also, I co-taught Integrated Pest Management course (IPM 560) and Environmental Science (ENVSCI-535), including a Weed Science course for Winter School students. I have served as major advisor of seven M.S. and 10 Ph. D. students and co-advisor/committee member for 15 graduate students. Currently, I have two Ph. D. students. Over 2100 students registered for weed science classes (undergraduate, graduate and short courses).
