Professor Perez earned his MSc (Environmental Studies) in 1986 and his PhD (Environmental Studies) in 1994, both from the University Montpellier 2, France. Before joining the University of Wollongong, Professor Perez has been a Team Leader at CSIRO and an Associate Professor at the Australian National University. He has 20 years experience working in South East Asia, Western Africa, Pacific Island Countries and Australia.
