Professor Chandler completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and Graduate Diploma of Education at Sydney University, followed by a Master of Science in Psychology and PhD in Education at UNSW. In 1992 he became the first academic from education to ever receive an Australian Research Council post-doctoral research fellowship. Professor Chandler completed two terms as Head of School of Education before being appointed Dean of Education at the University of Wollongong. Paul is regarded as an international expert in cognition and learning and has received numerous research and teaching awards.
