Electronic Publishing and the University Presses

Abstract

A pre-mortem on the death of scholarly publishing and an assessment of the current (as of the summer of 2004) state of electronic publishing among the university presses in the United States. Includes a financial analysis of the problems in scholarly publishing, as practiced by university presses, and suggestions how electronic forms of delivery may relate to these. Includes active links to many digital projects and vendors.
