To The Editor:
Drs. Huo and Cook have written an interesting Specialty Update, "What's New in Hip Arthroplasty" (2001;83-A:1598-610), but have not included the development of a minimally invasive surgical technique for hip arthroplasty. Readers may be interested to know about our technique that involves hip replacement performed through a 5-cm incision without the use of imaging. The SE-Hip System includes use of the LINK collum femoris preserving stem and the trabecular oriented pattern acetabular cup but can be used (with modification) with all hip replacement systems.
