Dr Patrick Butler is an experienced academic, researcher and consultant whose
professional expertise includes marketing thinking and practice in non-commercial
contexts. His research has focused on marketing strategy, e-business, politics and public
sector management issues, and has been published in many international books and
journals. 

Before joining Melbourne Business School, Patrick lectured at Trinity College Dublin and
at the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland. He has been a Visiting Professor at Senshu
University, Tokyo, and has taught and presented in both Europe and the USA. He has also
worked on marketing development projects with EU and UN organisations in Russia and
Africa 

Patrick has consulting and executive development experience in several sectors including
commercial banking, healthcare, food production and government departments. He has worked
with client organisations in Ireland, Denmark, Poland and Switzerland. Among the kinds of
projects he leads are business planning, assessments of service programs, market
research, new product evaluations and management development seminars and workshops.
